“Hip Hop is a beautiful culture. It’s inspirational, because it’s a culture of survivors. You can create beauty out of nothingness.”

UCLA Summer Dance/
Performing Arts Intensive
Through a unique partnership with UCLA Summer Sessions, Versa-Style: Performance Education Community provides a valuable opportunity to artistically inclined students in these school site programs, accessing a special nine-day dance intensive where 40+ students from the Los Angeles area and beyond are brought together to create a full length, professional produced production at the esteemed Glorya Kaufman Dance Theater, housed in UCLA’s prestigious Department of World Arts and Cultures/Dance.
During the nine days, the students get an authentic college experience, staying in the dorms each night, training in multiple dance forms with UCLA faculty and professionals from the Los Angeles area, not to mention, spending the whole time with six counselors, all of whom are undergraduate Dance majors themselves. Through this experience, the students gain a better understanding of the complex arts world, how they see themselves fitting into it, and the tools they need to enter this world and thrive in it.
Please note: The UCLA Dance/Performing Arts Intensive will return in Summer 2021.
